About Framing

I'm an artist, not a framer. And that's a fact. Which is probably a good thing because -- even if I could fabricate wonderful frames to suit every occasion -- I cannot even begin to contemplate the hassles and complications involved in trying to safely ship 24x36" (or larger) framed artwork with or without fragile glass panes. Besides, most folks prefer to choose their own frames and framing options to best suit their personal décor and budgets.

  • ALL REPRODUCTIONS ON THIS SITE ARE SOLD READY-TO-FRAME, with -- in most cases -- a 2-inch white margin surrounding the finished print. In other words, FRAMING IS REQUIRED before hanging my artwork.

  • The image size listed for each piece of artwork is the TOTAL framing size required. Meaning, a 24x36" image will require a 24x36" frame (or larger if matting is to be used).

  • The images themselves, unless otherwise noted, are encased in an attractive, tasteful, non-obtrusive color-coordinated soft-focus border, flush to the edges of the artwork's image area, all of which compliment the art piece with a custom-look appearance while still leaving the minimum, professional, bottom-weighted 2-inch white border. This arrangement is designed to maximize your framing options by eliminating the necessity for matting, although matting can be beautifully incorporated into your framing plans using a larger frame if desired. The minimum 2-inch white margin will also allow ample room for your professional frame shop to "stretch" Canvas Edition artwork before framing, if desired.

  • Whenever possible, I have designed the artwork to accept standard-sized (24x36", 20x24", etc.) commercial frames available in most art & crafts-type stores such as "Michaels", "ACMoore" as well as many others, including "Wal-Mart".
