About "A Place to Sit: Sky Watching"

"A Place to Sit: Sky Watching", original photograph taken with a Canon 5D Mark II, Circa 2008: Digital painting at the highest level.

This was a milestone painting for me, a true interplay of fine art studio painting fundamentals and pure digital technology, patiently infused over a period of months. Dreamlike, and very satisfying. A very comfortable place to sit. Cropped and reformatted a bit, "A Place to Sit: Sky Watching" became the October, 2009 cover for Roanoke Rapids' Daily Herald, The Lake Magazine.
